Hurricane Melissa Relief: Love in Action

Our Response to the Storm

When Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica, it left many families facing severe loss and dangerous living conditions. In response, our ministry immediately stepped into action to serve the communities most affected. In Saint Mary parish, we were able to help a family who was still living in their home even though the roof had been badly damaged and rain continued to pour into the house. With God’s help and the support of our partners, we were able to fully replace their roof and restore safety to their home.

In Saint Elizabeth, we cared for a family whose home was completely flattened by the storm, providing food, essential items, and the assurance that they were not alone in their rebuilding journey. Through a partnership with MoneyGram, we distributed food and supplies across multiple communities, with their team providing essential security in Trelawny. With the support of local police, we also received a full escort from Kingston to Trelawny, allowing us to reach families safely and feed over 200 households.

Every part of this mission reflects our commitment to serve with compassion, humility, and faith. Together, with our ministry members, partners, and supporters, we are bringing relief to those impacted and showing what love in action truly looks like.

The work is ongoing. There are still families who need shelter, food, and encouragement. We are preparing to travel to other areas to continue bringing relief and comfort to those affected, believing that together we can make a lasting difference.
